Astounding Benefits of maintaining a healthy body posture

Astounding Benefits of maintaining a healthy body posture

Did your parents ever scold you for slouching? Such comments are pretty annoying for anyone, but they are not wrong. People who have a desk job and work for hours while sitting are familiar with their DSE workstation. Generally, a DSE assessment is a course which allows workers to adapt different ways of their working postures and set up to avoid the harmful effects while working for long hours at a screen.

The DSE training shows how to customize the workplace as per your requirements. This will not only help improve the quality of your workspace, but will also improve the general postural health of workers.

However, your posture keeps changing as you get comfortable with different positions. Usually, sitting, standing and even lying down become the foundation of your body’s posture. It’s a fact that if your body posture is not aligned then it can put stress on your muscles. With time, the muscles can get tight and in the worst-case scenario, can cause significant wear and tear on your joints and ligaments.

How Bad Posture affects your health?

Poor body posture can increase the chance and likelihood of accidents, as some muscles become less efficient. Medical experts claim that an unhealthy posture can cause scoliosis, tension, headaches and back pain.

The above points should give sufficient motivation to maintain a healthy posture. The following points will show how a healthy posture can be beneficial for anyone.

Straight Spine

The core foundation of the body’s posture is the shape of the spine. A healthy spine reflects three curves that are generally located near the neck, shoulders and lower back. The shoulder of any person should equally align with the knees and feet.

While sitting, keep a straight neck, arms above the thighs and shoulders relaxed. If possible, try redesigning your work space. For instance, adjusting the screen to eye level. And you arm and wrist a comfortable resting position whilst working. It is recommended to conduct a DSE assessment, or DSE assessments for your company.

Support your neck with a pillow and another one between the knees while sleeping. Use a headset while you are in a call, instead of talking for hours with your arm and shoulder supporting your phone. Do not forget to stretch and move around whilst working so you are not repeating the same moves continuously and take breaks.
